Enhancing TopoMatters’ Workflow with AI for Smarter, More Efficient LiDAR Processing

At TopoMatters, we’re always refining our workflow to deliver the most precise and efficient survey-grade LiDAR processing. That’s why we’ve selected FLAI as a key enhancement to our TopoPro® local processing workflow—bringing additional automation and feature awareness to professional land survey deliverables.

Unlike cloud-based solutions, FLAI seamlessly integrates into our local, no-cloud approach, ensuring end-to-end control of client data. This advanced AI-driven tool takes our collected LiDAR data further by intelligently classifying off-ground features such as power poles, buildings, and fences—making it easier to identify these features across large survey limits.

Ground classification remains a controlled process within our TopoPro® workflow, relying on industry-standard computational algorithms to ensure the highest level of accuracy and the thinnest possible ground surface. However, FLAI helps eliminate rogue “ground” points caused by reflections through building windows or other anomalies, reducing manual classification work by an estimated 90%. This dramatically improves the efficiency and accuracy of our topo and TIN surface generation, leading to cleaner, more reliable survey data.
